The COLD Call. My Favorite!!!!;)

by Apr 17, 2019Blog0 comments

Here are five versions of opening a cold call.

Feel free to use the one that is right for you, or a combination of them.

The goal here is to communicate that you are respecting their time, giving them control, asking for permission, and indirectly creating a mini-contract.

There is no reason to say where you are calling from until they give you permission to do so.

1. Let me tell you — version 1
Hi Bob – Mike Smith Calling – I know I’m catching you out of the blue here. Let me tell you the reason why I am calling and then feel free to let me know if it makes sense to speak further, does that work for you?

2. Let me tell you — version 2
Hi Bob – Mike Smith Calling – I’m looking for a little help here. Let me tell you the reason why I am calling and then you can let me know if it makes sense to speak further, does that work for you?

3. Context
Hi Bob – Mike Smith Calling – Not sure whether or not if it makes sense to talk, let me put a little context around this call and tell you the reason why I am calling and then you can let me know if it makes sense to speak further, does that work for you?

4. I’m calling for two reasons
Hi Bob – Mike Smith Calling – I’m calling you for two reasons. Let me tell you what they are and then you can let me know if you’d like to speak further. Does that work for you?

5. Can I have 30 seconds
Hi Bob – Mike Smith Calling – I know I’m catching you out of the blue. Can I have 30 seconds of your time to tell you why I’m calling?
